There are millions of merchants already using Stripe to accept payments online. They have built their checkout flows, configured their tax rules, and connected their bank accounts. They are not going to rip out Stripe for a new payment system — and they should not have to.
StableFi does not replace Stripe. We extend it. Merchants keep their entire Stripe setup and add StableFi as a trust layer for AI agent transactions. When an agent wants to buy something from a Stripe-powered store, StableFi verifies the agent's identity, checks its TrustScore, and passes the verified context to Stripe's Agent Commerce Protocol (ACP) so the payment can proceed with confidence.
How the Integration Works
Stripe's ACP provides a framework for merchants to accept payments initiated by AI agents. StableFi plugs into this framework as a trust extension. Here is the flow:
- An AI agent arrives at a merchant's checkout with its StableFi AgentPassport.
- The merchant's server calls StableFi to verify the agent's identity and retrieve its TrustScore.
- If the TrustScore meets the merchant's threshold, the purchase proceeds through Stripe's normal payment flow.
- StableFi logs the transaction for reputation tracking and dispute resolution.
For the merchant, the integration is minimal — add the StableFi verification call before processing the Stripe charge. For the agent, the experience is seamless — present the passport, get verified, complete the purchase.
Why Merchants Should Care
AI agents represent an entirely new revenue channel. Agents do not abandon carts. They do not get distracted. They complete purchases in milliseconds. But merchants have a legitimate concern: how do you know an agent is authorized? How do you prevent fraud when the buyer is software?
That is exactly what StableFi solves. Our TrustScore gives merchants a real-time risk signal for every agent transaction. A high-score agent with a verified owner and clean transaction history is a safer customer than most humans. A low-score agent can be blocked or required to use escrow.
Two Lines of Code
We have deliberately kept integration simple. Merchants add a StableFi verification endpoint and a conditional check before their Stripe charge. No new SDKs, no new dashboards, no migration. The merchant continues to receive funds through Stripe exactly as before — StableFi just adds the trust layer that makes agent transactions safe.
